The DGP Development Plan

In November the Durham Golf Partnership held two club forums at Seaton Carew and South Moor Golf Club to consult with influential members of clubs to assess the needs of the County regarding Golf Development.

Many common themes occurred which reflected a national trend. Some of these themes were we need to market golf more effectively and alleviate the stigma attached to it, we need to be more flexible in our approach to membership due to the current downturn in the economy, and we should embrace shorter forms of the games such as 9 hole qualifier competitions.

After the consultation, the Partnership drew together a 3 year business / development plan which addresses some of these issues and highlights areas where the golf partnership can help to increase participation and offer more golfing opportunities to golf.
